Detailed calculation of heat produced by trains is beneficial to the equipment selection and energy-saving operation of the metro environmental control systems, which is more conducive to the recovery and reuse of tunnel heat. This paper quotes the relevant calculation methods of heat production during subway train operation, corrects some fallacies, adds influencing factors such as the number of trains per hour, the simultaneous use coefficient of air conditioning and electric heating equipment, and further refines the calculation method of heat production during train operation. The calculation results of the case show that the heat produced by train starting resistance accounts for the smallest proportion, only 0.1% of the total heat produced by the train. The heat produced by air conditioning in summer can account for 16.9% to 32.5% of the total heat production.
